3. Personal data we process

• name, phone number and email address (if you give it)
• contact preferences: contact method, best time to call and preferred language
• the address of the site (street, postcode and municipality) and parking and access instructions
• property details: property type, your role (e.g. owner or tenant), approximate year of construction, floor and lift, flat-specific shut-off valves and the status of the renovation notice
• the work requested: selected jobs and quantities, description, brand and model of fixtures, and whether the old one should be removed
• timing preferences: urgency, preferred dates and suitable times
• photos of the site, if you send them
• whether the quote is for a private person or a company; for business customers, the company or organisation name and Business ID (Y-tunnus)
• for private customers, whether you want the labour cost itemised on the invoice for the household tax credit (kotitalousvähennys)
• a discount code, if you use one, and how you heard about us (optional)
• details related to quotes, orders and invoicing if you become a customer

4. Purpose and legal basis

We process the data to reply to your enquiry, to prepare a quote, and to agree on and carry out the work. The legal basis is taking steps at your request before entering into a contract, and performing the contract (Article 6(1)(b) GDPR). We process invoicing and accounting data to comply with a legal obligation (Article 6(1)(c)). We need the fields marked with an asterisk to reply to your request; everything else is optional.

A discount code is used to check and confirm the discount in the quote. Telling us how you heard about us is optional; we process it on the basis of our legitimate interest (Article 6(1)(f)) only to understand how customers find us. Your data is not used for automated decision-making or profiling.

5. Retention

Quote requests and their photos that do not lead to an order are kept for up to 12 months. Customer data is kept for as long as needed to carry out the work and handle any complaints. Accounting records are kept as required by the Finnish Accounting Act (kirjanpitolaki).

6. Disclosures and recipients

• Quote request form data and photos sent with the form are passed through the website’s server to our email, and if you give an email address you receive an automatic confirmation there. The server does not store the form content; to prevent spam, a hash of the IP address is kept for at most 10 minutes. The server and email provider (web hosting company) processes the data as a processor.
• If you send a message or photos on WhatsApp, they travel through the WhatsApp service and are also subject to WhatsApp’s own terms and privacy policy.
• Data is not sold or disclosed for marketing.
• Data may be disclosed to authorities where the law requires it.
• Data is not transferred outside the EU or EEA unless the messaging service used requires it; in that case the transfer relies on the provider’s GDPR safeguards.

7. Cookies and analytics

The website uses no cookies and no visitor tracking. Fonts are loaded from our own server, so loading a page does not send data to third parties. Price calculator selections are stored only in your browser’s session storage (sessionStorage), and if you dismiss the language suggestion or choose a language, that choice is remembered in your browser’s local storage (localStorage).

An unfinished quote request is saved as a draft in your browser’s local storage (localStorage) so that you can continue later. Photos and your confirmation are not saved in the draft, and it is deleted when you send the request or choose “Start over”. A draft older than 14 days is deleted the next time you open the quote request form. A Pipe Puzzle discount code and the game state are likewise stored only in your browser.

This data stored in your browser is not sent anywhere until you send a quote request yourself.

8. Security

Only those who need the data for their work can access it. Email and devices are password-protected.

9. Your rights

You have the right to access your data, to have incorrect data corrected, to request erasure or restriction of processing, to receive the data you gave us in a machine-readable format and have it transferred to another controller (data portability), and to object to processing based on our legitimate interest. You can send requests to the email address above.

10. Right to lodge a complaint

If you believe that the processing of your personal data breaches data protection law, you can lodge a complaint with the supervisory authority: the Office of the Data Protection Ombudsman (Tietosuojavaltuutetun toimisto), tietosuoja.fi/en.
