The whole kitchen or just the connections
Installing an IKEA kitchen comes in two parts: assembling the cabinets, doors and drawers, and making the water and drain connections. You can order both from us, so one provider is responsible for the whole kitchen, or assemble the cabinets yourself and have us do just the connections.
The connections are best left to a professional, because a badly made joint under the sink is one of the most common causes of water damage in Finnish kitchens. We install the sink with its waste and trap, fit the tap and connect it to the water supply, and connect the dishwasher to water and drain. Finally we test everything and check that every joint stays dry.

Cabinet assembly
We assemble base cabinets, wall cabinets, drawer units and doors, fix the cabinets to the wall and adjust the doors and drawers. Assembly is charged by the hour: from €60/h. The time depends on the size of the kitchen, so send the kitchen plan or product list and we will estimate the time in advance.
Fitting the worktop, cutting the sink and tap holes and removing the old kitchen are agreed in the quote request. Electrical work, such as a hard-wired cooker or new sockets, is done by an electrician.
Order of work
When we assemble the cabinets, we make the connections in the same visit as soon as the base cabinets and worktop are in place. If you assemble the cabinets yourself, book the connections for when the base cabinets are fixed, the worktop is in place and the sink and tap holes have been cut.
If the old kitchen is removed first, disconnecting the old sink and dishwasher counts as one of our small plumbing jobs. The connections are capped so that you can live in the flat during the renovation.
Check the parts before installation day
Kitchen sinks, taps and traps are often sold as separate products, and with some sinks the waste and trap must be bought separately. Make sure you have a trap with an outlet for the dishwasher drain hose. Taps usually come with flexible connection hoses.
The dishwasher takes its water from a dishwasher valve on the tap or from a separate valve under the sink. If the tap you chose has no dishwasher valve, tell us in advance so that a suitable valve is with us on the day. Extra fittings and hoses are charged separately.
It is worth fitting a leak tray under the dishwasher at the same time – many insurers and housing companies require one. Keep all the parts and instructions that came with the products; the manufacturer's terms may require installation according to the instructions.
Price and the household tax credit
Cabinet assembly costs from €60/h. The connections have fixed prices: sink installation €156.88–235.31, tap installation €125.50 and dishwasher connection €125.50. Prices include 25.5% VAT. You can find every price on the price list.
You can claim the Finnish household tax credit (kotitalousvähennys) for the labour of a kitchen renovation, such as installing the cabinets, sink and tap. Connecting the dishwasher may qualify as part of a kitchen renovation, but installing an appliance on its own does not. Read more in our article on the household tax credit for plumbing.

Frequently asked questions
Do you also assemble IKEA cabinets?
Yes. We assemble and fix cabinets, doors and drawer units at an hourly rate of from €60/h. Send the kitchen plan or product list and we will estimate the time in advance. You can also assemble the cabinets yourself and order just the connections from us.
How much does kitchen installation cost?
Cabinet assembly costs from €60/h. Sink installation costs €156.88–235.31, tap installation €125.50 and dishwasher connection €125.50. Prices include 25.5% VAT, and any extra fittings and hoses are charged separately. You only pay for the jobs you need.
Can the old connections be used in the new kitchen?
Often yes, if the water pipes and drain come out roughly where they did before. If the sink moves to a new spot, the connections have to be extended or moved. Send a photo of the current connections and the new floor plan, and we will estimate the extra work in advance.
Does the dishwasher need a leak tray?
Many insurers and housing companies require a leak tray under the dishwasher. In a new kitchen it is easiest to fit while the machine is being connected. Read more in our article on dishwasher leak trays.
Do you connect kitchens from other brands too?
Yes. Sink, tap and dishwasher connections are the same whatever the brand of the kitchen, so the prices are the same for every kitchen.
